As the oldest member of the Long Island Chapter of NECA, we enjoy the admiration and respect of its other members. Al Bender, the founder of Bana Electric Corp., was one of the first Governors of NECA Long Island, and the first Long Island NECA member to be elected to the NECA Academy of Electrical Contracting and served as the Governor Emeritus of NECA. His philosophy: “the quality remains long after the price is forgotten” has been a motto of the company since its inception. The next two generations, the current CEO, Michael Bender, and the President, Stephen Bender, each have Electrical Engineering degrees from exceptionally respected Engineering Universities (MIT and RPI respectively). They both enjoy the challenge of an extremely technical project. Add the superb engineering talents of these two subsequent generations to the foundation of the first, along with the superior workforce at BEC, and you have the recipe for a winning combination of excellence and distinction.
